Your author suggests caution about this family taken from the 1891 census. Your author would have expected to find this family in the 1881 census. There was no family with any similar names at Northeast Margaree in 1881. There was, however, a family headed by John and Elizabeth Timmons at Cheticamp (4, b, #82). The sexes and ages of the children were correct. However, only son Abraham matched in name. There was no Timmons family in Cheticamp in the 1891 census. It is likely that this is the same Timmons family - the names of the children are suspect. He appeared on the census of 1881 at Cheticamp District, Inverness Co, NS; John Timmons, male, married, age 29, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Elisabeth Timmons, female, married, age 23, born Nova Scotia; R William Timmons, male, age 6, born Nova Scotia; Mary Ann Timmons, female, age 4, born Nova Scotia; Abram Timmons, male, age 2, born Nova Scotia; George Timmons, male, age 1, born Nova Scotia.2 He was a farmer in 1891.3 He and Elizabeth Melinda Phillips resided in 1891 at Northeast Margaree District, Inverness Co, NS.3
