Isaac Titus Jr1

     Isaac Titus Jr was born circa October 1795.2 He was the son of Isaac Titus. Isaac Titus Jr married Frances McDormand, daughter of James McDormand and Anna Rice, on 19 October 1814 at Trinity Anglican Church, Digby, Digby Co, NS; Brian McDormand says they were married at Centerville (sic) (Centreville, Digby Co, NS).3 Isaac Titus Jr died on 23 February 1863 at Port Burwell, Elgin Co, ON; at age 67 years, 4 months.2 He was buried after 23 February 1863 at Estherville Cemetery, Bayham Twp, Elgin Co, ON.2
     He and Frances McDormand resided circa 1828 at east of Vienna, Elgin Co, ON; and about 1854 moved to Port Burwell. According to the St Thomas Evening Journal of 9 Sep 1879 there were 7 sons and 5 daughters.2 Isaac Titus Jr and Frances McDormand presented their letters for admission as members to the Port Burwell Baptist Church Port Burwell, Elgin Co, ON 12 January 1828.2 Isaac Titus Jr and Frances McDormand resided circa 1835 at Bayham Twp, Elgin Co, ON.1

     Gertrude Todd was born on 18 August 1906 at Perotte, Annapolis Co, NS.4,3 She was the daughter of Frederick Todd and Josephine Ramsay.2,3 Gertrude Todd married Aubrey Roy Rice, son of Ebenezer Rice and Annie Anderson.5 Gertrude Todd died on 23 October 2001 at Colgor Nursing Home, Moschelle, Annapolis Co, NS; in her 95th year. Her obituary said, in part: "... Gertrude lived a full life of hard work and creativity. She moved to Philadelphia in 1946 where she first worked as a cook on the Widner Estates. In 1950, she graduated as a practical nurse from National School of Nursing in Philadelphia after which she did both psychiatric and private nursing. From the late 1950's until 1973, she owned and operated a restaurant in Rockledge, Pa. When she retired to Nova Scotia in the late 1970's, she had her dream home built on Lake LaRose, taught ceramics and fulfilled her lifelong ambition of writing and publishing. She was inspired daily by new ideas. Gramma Gert has written and published 10 books, all after her 70th birthday. The strength and determination to live her dreams made her a remarkable woman. For the last seven years, she lived contentedly at Colgor Nursing Home where she was lovingly cared for by Colleen Bragg and her staff."4
     She and Aubrey Roy Rice resided at Moschelle, Annapolis Co, NS.2 Gertrude Todd and Aubrey Roy Rice resided between 1946 and 1978 at Pennsylvania.4,2 Gertrude Todd resided in 2000 at Lake LaRose, Annapolis Co, NS, at the time of her brother Howard's death.6

     He left a will circa 1821 at Granville, Annapolis Co, NS, LWT of Joseph Troop of Granville, "freeholder". Widow Sarah remarried in 1824 to Benjamin Reid(sic) of Hopewell, N.B. They had eight daughters the eldest of whom was Sophia. Son-in-law: William H. Morse. Brother: George Troop. Kinsman: Joseph Fellows.4
