     Susan Spurr was born circa 1805.2 She was the daughter of Michael Spurr and Anna Rice. Susan Spurr married James M Gilliatt, son of Michael Gilliatt and Amelia Parker, on 4 November 1844 at Granville, Annapolis Co, NS; by Rev Smithson.3 Susan Spurr died on 4 February 1867 at Granville, Annapolis Co, NS, at age 62. Her grave stone says age 64 but the NS Vital Records says age 62.2
     Her married name was Gilliatt. She left a will before 4 February 1867 at Granville, Annapolis Co, NS, which was recorded 23 Feb 1867: LWT of Susan Gilliatt of Granville. Husband: James M. Gilliatt. Sister: Diadama. "to Major Ransom". "to Charlotte Oliver the wife of John Oliver". She died 4 Feb 1867.4

     Thomas Edwin Spurr was born on 28 March 1839 at Perotte, Annapolis Co, NS.5,6 He was the son of James Wilkie Spurr and Susannah Copeland.3,4 Thomas Edwin Spurr was baptized on 28 May 1839 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.7 He married Ruth Rice, daughter of James Franklin Rice and Susan Hardy, on 15 August 1861 at her father's home, Clements, Annapolis Co, NS; by W M Godfrey. Thomas Spurr was of Perotte, Parish of Annapolis and Ruth was of the Parish of Clements.8 Thomas Edwin Spurr died in 1918.9 He was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River, Annapolis Co, NS.9
     He was a mill wright in 1877 at Bear River, Digby Co, NS.6 He and Ruth Rice appeared on the census of 1881 at Hillsburgh District, Digby Co, NS; Thomas Spurr, male, married, age 42, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Mill Wright; Ruth Spurr, female, married, age 41, born Nova Scotia; Emma Spurr, female, age 18, born Nova Scotia; Corry Spurr, female, age 10, born Nova Scotia; Jennie Spurr, female, age <1, born Nova Scotia; born: ; 2/12.10 Thomas Edwin Spurr and Ruth Rice resided between 1891 and 1901 at Hillsburgh District, Digby Co, NS.5,11 Thomas Edwin Spurr was a mill wright. on 10 April 1891.5 He was a merchant in April 1901.11

     Avard T. Steele was born on 30 January 1860 at Scotts Bay, NS.1 He was the son of Dr Jonathan E. Steele and Alvinia A. Porter.2 Avard T. Steele married Emma Gertrude Rice, daughter of John Gilmore Rice and Armanella Ruggles, circa 1888.2 Avard T. Steele died in 1934 at Waverly, MA, at age 74. He was a carpenter by trade and had a contracting and building business in Belmont for several years. He is survived by his widow Emma Steele and six children, Earle G Steele of Reading, Gordon E Steele of Newburyport, Mrs Boyd Parker of Boston, Mrs Charles Fosgate of Cambridge, Mrs Albert Gildersleeve of West Roxbury, and Mrs W I Gould of Orange, NJ.1
