     Robert Benjamin Spencer was born on 4 February 1868 at Mira Gut, NS, (21st per Witham.)1,2 He was the son of Charles Theophilus Spencer and Catherine A. Phillips. Robert Benjamin Spencer married Ellen Jane Barnstable, daughter of Thomas Barnstable, on 27 May 1918 at Glace Bay, Cape Breton Co, NS.3,2 Robert Benjamin Spencer died on 26 December 1940 at Scatarie Island, NS.4,2 He was buried on 27 December 1940 at Mira Gut, NS.4,2
     Robert was an accomplished boat builder and acted as Scaterie Island's doctor and dentist. He traveled widely by sea, especially to Russia. He died during the winter on Scaterie Island as it was several days to get his body off the island because of ice flow.2 He appeared on the census of 1901 at Port Morien, NS; living with his father.5,2

Marguerita MacQuarrie, nurse, 29 of 54 Union St, Sydney on 2 Aug 1922 at 54 Union St. Sydney, NS. He was b. in Morien to Lewis George Spencer, b. Mira, & Sarah Spencer. She was b. Glace Bay to Archibald MacQuarrie, b. Mira, & Mary Hitchins.2,1 Roy Aubrey Spencer died on 27 October 1967 at Saskatoon, SK.1
     He was a Professor of Civil Engineering at University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK.1 He became acting dean of the university in 1942 and dean in 1945 until his retirement in 1963.1' He was in the military with the Royal Canadian Army during World War 1.1

     Ann Spurr was born in 1804.2 She was the daughter of Michael Spurr and Anna Rice. Ann Spurr married Thomas Fox Burrill on 4 September 1845 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS; at her brother William's house. This was the 2nd marriage for Thomas Burrill.3 Ann Spurr died on 4 September 1865 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS; at age 61.3 She was buried after 4 September 1865 at Clementsvale Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.3

     Arthur Spurr was born on 28 June 1865 at Nova Scotia.2 He was born on 7 January 1866 at Lequille, Annapolis Co, NS.3 He was baptized on 19 August 1866 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.4 He married Catherine Mailman, daughter of George Mailman and Rachael Wagstaff, on 15 April 1890 at Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co, NS; by Rev F W Kohler.5 Arthur Spurr died on 12 February 1917 at Lequille, Annapolis Co, NS.3 He was buried after 12 February 1917 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.6
     He and Catherine Mailman resided between 1891 and 1901 at Lequille District, Annapolis Co, NS.7,2 Arthur Spurr a well known lumberman, farmer, and contractor at Annapolis Royal before 1917.6 He left a will on 8 February 1917 at Lequille, Annapolis Co, NS, which was recorded 23 Feb 1917: LWT of Arthur Spurr of Lequille, yeoman, dated 8 Feb 1917. Wife: Catharine Spurr. Children: Cecil, Florence Spurr, Agnes Spurr, Mildred Spurr, Constance Spurr and John. He died 11 Feb 1917 at Lequille. The estate was never settled and on 1 Aug 1961 a petition was filed by Ralph S. Goldsmith of Warwick, Rhode Island, the last surviving ex. of the estate of Catherine Spurr late of Lequille who's will was filed 16 Sep 1955, requesting settlment. Six sets of heirs: to estate of Max Spurr desceased son of Cecil Spurr the deceased son of Arthur Spurr. c/o Elsie Spurr of Bridgetown, Max Spurr's widow; Agnes Spurr, of Boston, widow of John Spurr deceased son of Arthur Spurr; Florence Spurr Evans deceased daughter of Arthur Spurr, her share to the heirs of Catherine Spurr: children of her deceased daughter Constance Fielding: Wilfred Fielding and Pauline Tripanier, Betty R. Tillman the daughter of Hildred Goldsmith, Agnes Rice; to the estate of Hildred Spurr Goldsmith deceased daughter of Arthur and wife of Ralph Goldsmith; Agnes Rice daughter of Arthur Spurr; to the estate of Constance R. Fielding deceased daughter of Arthur.8

     Avis Euphemia Spurr was born on 18 February 1829 at Perotte, Annapolis Co, NS.3 She was the daughter of James Wilkie Spurr and Susannah Copeland. Avis Euphemia Spurr married Jonas Rice, son of Levi Rice and Margaret Robinson, on 2 April 1850 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; by Rev James Bartlett.1,2,4 Avis Euphemia Spurr died on 8 August 1894.2 She was buried on 10 August 1894 at Saint John Anglican Churchyard, Bear River, Annapolis Co, NS.5
     Her married name was Rice. She and Jonas Rice resided after 1853 at Bear River, Digby Co, NS. Although the baptismal record of daughter Laleah gives the residence as Lake LaRose, all earlier and later records give Hillsburgh or Bear River as Jonas and Avis Rice's residence. It is likely that the enumerator made an error as her brother, James is enumerated before her at age 14.3,4,5 She was the daughter of Thomas Edwin Spurr and Ruth Rice.2 Carrie Bell Spurr married John William Benson, son of Edward Benson and Susan (?), on 6 February 1890 at Bear River, NS.6 Carrie Bell Spurr died on 3 November 1895 at Bear River, NS.7 She was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River, Annapolis Co, NS.8

     Diadama Spurr was born circa 1796 at Annapolis County, NS.2,1 She was the daughter of Michael Spurr and Anna Rice. Diadama Spurr died on 23 January 1878; single at age 82.2 She was buried after 23 January 1878 at Parkers Cemetery, Granville, Annapolis Co, NS.2 The estate was probated on 21 August 1878 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; with a letter of administration for the estate of Diadamia Spurr granted to Elizabeth Shaw. 28 Feb 1879 settlement with "distribution to the heirs of William Spurr, Josiah Spurr and those of Elijah Spurr." She died in Feb 1878, a spinster of Granville. The heirs were the children of her three brothers - Elijah Spurr's children: Mrs. C.A. Addie, Mary Tupper, Emma Frost, Sarah Robinson, Harriatt Rertson, Celia Upham, William Spurr deceased (2 children), Edward Spurr. Josiah Spurr's children: Mary A. Potter, Ellenor Spurr, Letitia Potter, Eliza Witt deceased (children: William Norman Witt and Bernard Witt), Diadama Forester deceased (one child Zebuda .....), Charles Spurr deceased (one child Eliza Spurr). William Spurr's child: Elizabeth Shaw.3

Eleanor Spurr was baptized on 12 June 1827 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; by Rev John Millidge.3 She married Benjamin Rice, son of Levi Rice and Margaret Robinson, on 4 August 1847 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; by Rev Edwin Gilpin.4,1
     Her married name was Rice.      Harriet Jane Spurr was born on 23 March 1858 at Deep Brook, Annapolis Co, NS, at her marriage in 1888 Harriet declared age 30, born Smiths Cove, but the 1901 census shows her birth date as 26 Mar 1857.5,6,7 She was the daughter of William Voorhies Spurr and Emma Jane Ditmars.3,4 Harriet Jane Spurr married Captain Fenwick Williams Rice, son of Thomas H. Rice and Cordelia A. Potter, on 8 November 1888 at Clements West, Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.2,8 Harriet Jane Spurr died on 7 March 1938 at Deep Brook, Annapolis Co, NS.5 She was buried at Smiths Cove Cemetery, Smiths Cove, Digby Co, NS.9
     She was a Baptist.10 Vernon Spurr describes: "Harriet Jane (Spurr) Rice spent her entire life in Deep Brook. She was described as of a quiet retiring disposition, a woman of fine Christian character, and held in very high esteem by all who had the privilege of her acquaintance."9 She also went by the name of "Hattie."10 Her married name was Rice. She and Captain Fenwick Williams Rice resided between 1891 and 1901 at Hillsburgh District, Digby Co, NS.11,12 Harriet Jane Spurr and Captain Fenwick Williams Rice appeared on the census of 1911 at Deep Brook, Annapolis Co, NS.13 Harriet Jane Spurr left a will on 16 October 1936 at Deep Brook, Annapolis Co, NS, which was recorded 16 March 1938. The will mentions siblings George M Spurr, Captain E W Spurr, E Blanche Spurr, and B Grace Spurr.14

     James Wilkie Spurr was born on 17 June 1803 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.2 He married Susannah Copeland on 6 March 1825 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; by Rev John Millidge.3 James Wilkie Spurr died on 9 March 1876 at Perotte, Annapolis Co, NS. James Wilkie and Susan Spurr lived in the Perotte Settlement where he was a mechanic, farmer, and Justice of the Peace. At his death his estate was left to his wife with the revision to their sons James A, Michael, and Walter Wilkinson.4 He was buried on 14 March 1876 at Saint Marks Church Cemetery, Perotte, Annapolis Co, NS.4
     He left a will on 30 April 1875 at Perotte, Annapolis Co, NS, which was recorded 28 Dec 1877: LWT of James W. Spurr of Perotte Settlement, Justice of the Peace, mechanic and farmer, dated 30 Apr 1875. Wife: Susan. Children: James A., Michael, and Walter.5

     Josiah Morse Spurr was born circa 1781 at Round Hill, Annapolis Co, NS.3 He was the son of Michael Spurr and Diadama Morse.2 Josiah Morse Spurr married Zebudah Potter, daughter of Rev Israel Potter and Mary Rice, on 5 November 1807 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.1 Josiah Morse Spurr married Sarah Potter, daughter of Rev Israel Potter and Mary Rice, before 5 November 1822 at Nova Scotia.4,1 Josiah Morse Spurr died on 23 December 1866 at Granville, Annapolis Co, NS.3
     Vernon Spurr notes: "In 1815 Josiah purchased an adjoining part of lot No. 1 (in the Cob and Dyson Grant on the road from Annapolis to Clements) from his father-in-law, Israel Potter, and Mary, his wife. This lot was 1/2 of the lot of land Mary Potter's father, John M Rice, had given her and contained a total of 40 acres."5

Letetia Spurr married 1st James V Hogan.5 Letetia Spurr married 2nd John Henry Potter, son of John Potter and Mary Balcom, on 21 February 1877 at Lower Clarence, Annapolis Co, NS.6 Letetia Spurr died on 7 July 1900 as her husband was enumerated as a widower in the 1901 census. She was age 72.7,8 She was buried at Clementsport United Cemetery, Clementsport, Annapolis Co, NS.9
     Her married name was Hogan. Her married name was Potter.      Mary Ann Spurr was born on 2 September 1808 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.2,3 She was the daughter of Josiah Morse Spurr and Zebudah Potter. Mary Ann Spurr married 1st Dowe Ditmars Potter, son of Rev Israel Potter and Catherine Ditmars, on 29 November 1840.4 Mary Ann Spurr died on 9 April 1885.4 She was buried at Clementsvale Baptist Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.5
     Her married name was Potter. She and Dowe Ditmars Potter resided in 1861 at Hessian Line, Clements, Annapolis Co, NS. Dowe D Potter was enumerated as a married male age 40 to 50 and his wife was age 50 to 60. they had two children: one female age 15 to 20 years and one male age 10 to 15 years.6 Mary Ann Spurr and Dowe Ditmars Potter appeared on the census of 1881 at Hessian Line District, Annapolis Co, NS; Dow D Potter, male, married, age 64, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Mary A Potter, female, married, age 74, born Nova Scotia; Willis Sheffer, male, born 13, born Nova Scotia.7

     Michael Spurr was born on 1 April 1723 at Stoughton, MA, (not found in the published records.)1 He and Jane Shippey published their marriage intention on 25 October 1746 at Stoughton, MA; both of Stoughton.2 Michael Spurr married Jane Shippey on 24 November 1746 at Stoughton, MA; both of Stoughton.3,1 Michael Spurr died in 1774 at Round Hill, Annapolis Co, NS; between 18 April and 7 June.1

     Michael Spurr was born on 1 February 1756 at Stoughton, MA.2 He was the son of Michael Spurr and Jane Shippey. Michael Spurr married 1st Diadama Morse before 1781.3 Michael Spurr married Anna Rice, daughter of Ebenezer Rice and Tabitha Balcom, on 3 December 1791 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.4,1 Michael Spurr died on 16 November 1840 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.3
     He and Anna Rice were legally separated in 1823.3 Michael Spurr left a will on 25 October 1837 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS, which was recorded 09 Dec 1840: LWT of Michael Spurr of Township of Clements, yeoman. Children: William Spurr, Josiah Spurr, Elijah Spurr, Diadama Spurr and Ann Spurr.5
