Nancy Naomi Rice was born on 25 March 1853 at Bridgetown, Annapolis Co, NS.2,3 She was the daughter of Timothy Rice and Mary Alice Newcomb. Nancy Naomi Rice married Robert J Greenwood, son of William Greenwood and Eliza (?), on 22 November 1882 at Bridgetown, Annapolis Co, NS; The Presbyterian Witness has the date as 23 November. As there were no children mentioned in Nancy Rice's will, we may assume that there were no children of the marriage. The will also mentions her late husband so we may assume that Robert Greenwood predeceased his wife.4,2,5 Nancy Naomi Rice died after 23 October 1888 at Bridgetown, Annapolis Co, NS.6
Her married name was Greenwood. She left a will on 23 October 1888 at Bridgetown, Annapolis Co, NS, which was recorded 6 November 1888. The will mentions mother Mary A Rice widow of the late Timothy Rice; siblings Alfred T Rice, Joseph Rice, Charles S Rice, Emily Rice, Jennie Rice; and "to Mary Rice the widow of my brother William A Rice" and "to Clara Greenwood sister of my late husband". Relationships not specified include Mary Coffin and Minnie McLearn. Your author notes that her father, Timothy's will also mentions Jennie which your author assumes to be Sarah Jane.6
