James Banks married 1st Margaret Moody before 1848.1 James Banks married 2nd Eliza (?) after 1886.5 James Banks died in 1904.6

Joseph Banks married 1st Leah Durland.1 Joseph Banks married 2nd Mehitable Phinney after 1848.1 Joseph Banks died in June 1864.3 The estate was probated on 15 December 1864 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; with a letter of administration to Mehitable Banks and William Phinney Junior for the estate of Joseph Banks. He died intestate in Jun 1864 and left a widow and two children.3

     Lloyd Hastings Banks was born on 31 December 1924 at Rossway, NS.2,3 He was the son of Loren Hastings Banks and Edna Peters.2 Lloyd Hastings Banks married Ethel Rice, daughter of Albert William Rice and Clara Alcorn, on 18 September 1951.4 Lloyd Hastings Banks died on 4 May 2006 at Halifax, NS.3
     He and Ethel Rice resided in 2005 at Bedford, NS, according to Ethel's sister Mary's obituary.5 During the Second World War, Lloyd served overseas with the North Novas from 1943 to 1946. He served 30 years as a Fire Fighter with Emergency Services at Cornwallis, Frobisher Bay, Goose Bay, and at the Halifax International Airport.3

     Abner Barteaux was born on 3 March 1850 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.1,2 He was the son of Freeman Barteaux and Lucy Ann Rice.1 Abner Barteaux married Laura Jane Mott, daughter of Alexander Mott and Eleanor (?), on 8 May 1878 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.3 Abner Barteaux died on 19 September 1934 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; at his home on the Cape Road.1 He was buried after 19 September 1934 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.4
     He and Laura Jane Mott resided after May 1878 at Cape Road, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.1 Abner Barteaux and Laura Jane Mott appeared on the census of 1881 at Annapolis Royal District, Annapolis Co, NS; Abner Barteaux, male, married, age 30, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer: Laura Barteaux, female, married, age 24; William Barteaux, male, age 1, born Nova Scotia. Your authors note that son Frank (Frances) was enumerated with his grandparents in the 1881 census.5 Abner Barteaux and Laura Jane Mott resided between 1891 and 1901 at Lequille District, Annapolis Co, NS.6,2

     Ada Barteaux was born on 20 January 1864 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.1,2 She was the daughter of Freeman Barteaux and Lucy Ann Rice.1 Ada Barteaux died on 24 November 1929 at Lequille, Annapolis Co, NS; unmarried.1
     Ada Barteaux (260366) and Emma Barteaux (269689) The birth year of either Ada or Emma is incorrect. It is likely that Ada was born in 1862. She appeared on the census of 1881 at Annapolis Royal District, Annapolis Co, NS; with her parents. Ada declared age 19 in the 18881 census.3 She resided in April 1901 at Lequille District, Annapolis Co, NS, with her mother.2

     Ann Rebecca Barteaux was born on 1 May 1818 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.2 She was the daughter of Edward Barteaux and Mary Whitman. Ann Rebecca Barteaux married William Wallace Potter, son of John Potter and Mary Balcom, on 30 December 1847 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.2,3 Ann Rebecca Barteaux died before 1901 as her husband, William Wallace Potter, was enumerated as a widower in the 1901 census.4
     She was also known as Ann Whitman Barteaux.5 Her married name was Potter. She and William Wallace Potter appeared on the census of 1881 at Clementsport District, Annapolis Co, NS; Wm Potter, male, married, age 55, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer Mason; Ann Potter, female, married, age 56, born Nova Scotia; Barleaux Potter, male, age 28, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Fisherman.6 Ann Rebecca Barteaux and William Wallace Potter resided in April 1891 at Clements District, Annapolis Co, NS.7

     Edward Barteaux was born on 31 May 1787 at Moschelle, Annapolis Co, NS.2,3 He was baptized on 10 June 1787 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.4 He married Mary Whitman on 25 December 1810 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.5 Edward Barteaux died on 19 May 1826 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS. His estate was resolved 17 August 1826. Widow Mercy Barteaux relinquished administration to Jacob Whitman and George Barteaux.6,3 He was buried on 21 May 1826 at Round Hill, Annapolis Co, NS.3

     Edward Joseph Barteaux was born on 31 January 1846 at Nictaux, Annapolis Co, NS.3 He was the son of Robert Barteaux and Olivia Wheelock.2 Edward Joseph Barteaux and Elizabeth Rice married 1st, daughter of Capt Ebenezer Rice and Elizabeth Thomas, on 20 January 1870 at Smiths Cove, Digby Co, NS; by Rev Joseph Jones. The marriage license included: Edward Joseph Barteaux, age 23, bachelor, house joiner, residence and born Aylesford, Kings County, son of Robert and Olivia Barteaux, and Lizzie Rice, age 21, spinster, residence Smiths Cove, daughter of Eben and Eliza Rice.4,5 Edward Joseph Barteaux married Susan Parker, daughter of Deacon Wilbur Parker and Charlotte Rice, on 3 May 1876 at Aylesford, Kings Co, NS; by Rev Reed.6,1 Edward Joseph Barteaux died on 1 March 1921 at Halifax, Halifax Co, NS.3 He was buried at Smiths Cove Cemetery, Smiths Cove, Digby Co, NS.7
     He was a carpenter and stair builder at Cambridge, MA.3 He and Susan Parker appeared on the census of 1900 at Ward 4, Cambridge, MA.8
