     Frances Rice was born circa 1783, the date and Place of Frances' birth are not known. Beriah and Meriam Rice were recorded in land transactions at Annapolis between 1770 and 1783, at Dartmouth between 1787 and 1789 and at Halifax in 1790. Beriah Rice was listed on a tax roll in Halifax in 1792.2 She was the daughter of Beriah Rice Jr and Meriam (?). Frances Rice was baptized on 26 March 1801 at Saint George's Church, Sydney, Cape Breton Co, NS.1 She married Hezekiah Spencer, son of John Spencer and Esther Bunnell, on 30 March 1801 at Saint George's Church, Sydney, Cape Breton Co, NS.3 Frances Rice died on 7 June 1866 at Mira Gut, NS.4,1
     She also went by the name of "Fanny."1

     Frank Spurr Rice was born on 21 March 1892 at Nova Scotia.2 He was born on 5 March 1893 at Deep Brook, Annapolis Co, NS.1 He was the son of Captain Fenwick Williams Rice and Harriet Jane Spurr.1 Frank Spurr Rice died on 10 April 1917 at France; of wounds received at Vimy Ridge, 9 April 1917, during World War 1.1 He was buried after 10 April 1917 at Lapuendy, France.1
     He was in the military service between March 1915 and April 1917. He began military service at Vancouver, British Columbia. In June 1915 he left Victoria, en route for England, transferring to the 7th Canadian Battalion. He was wounded in the storming of Vimy Ridge on 9 April 1917.1

     Fred Voorheis Rice was born on 8 September 1890 at Deep Brook, Annapolis Co, NS.1,2 He was the son of Captain Fenwick Williams Rice and Harriet Jane Spurr.1 Fred Voorheis Rice was killed in action during World War 1. on 11 July 1917 at France.1 He was buried after 11 July 1917 at Voormezeele, Belgium.3
     He was in the military service during World War 1. He enlisted in the 187th Canadian Alberta Battalion and was afterwards transferred to the 7th Canadian Construction Company.4

     Captain George Rice was born on 25 December 1794 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS, (called a baptism on p. 206 of the Rice Gen'l Register) It is apparent that either Joseph or Elizabeth's birth date is
incorrect.1,2 He was the son of Silas Rice and Sarah Kniffen. Captain George Rice married Harriett Clarke, daughter of Richard Clarke, on 2 February 1821 at Annapolis County, NS; by Rev John Millidge. Both George and Harriet were of the Parish of Clements.3,1 Captain George Rice and Margaret Winchester married 2nd, daughter of Charles Winchester and Maria (?), on 6 September 1869 at Hillsburgh, Digby Co, NS. The marriage license stated: George Rice, age 74, widower, farmer, residence Hillsburgh, born Annapolis, son of Cyrus and Sarah Rice, and Margaret Potter, age 33, widow, residence, Hillsburgh, daughter of Charles and Maria Winchester.4 Captain George Rice died on 13 March 1878.5
     He was a founding member of the Bear River Baptist Church in 1821.6
