     Israel Potter was born on 19 June 1818 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.1 He was the son of Aaron Potter and Susannah B. Purdy. Israel Potter married 1st Caroline Catherine LeCain, daughter of Benjamin LeCain and Elizabeth Millner, on 24 November 1842 at her father's home, Clements, Annapolis Co, NS; by W M Godfrey.2 Israel Potter married 2nd Susan Roop before 1868.1 Israel Potter died on 17 November 1894.3 He was buried at Clementsport United Cemetery, Clementsport, Annapolis Co, NS.4
     He and Caroline Catherine LeCain resided in 1861 at Hessian Line, Clements, Annapolis Co, NS, according to the 1861 census Israel Potter was enumerated as a married male age 40 to 50 as was his wife. They had four others in heir household: one male age 30 to 40, one male age 20 to 30, one female age 15 to 20, and one male age 10 to 15.5 Israel Potter left a will on 5 February 1868, which was recorded 1894: LWT of Israel Potter of the Township of Clements, dated 5 Feb 1868. Wife: Susan E. Potter. Page 284, 06 Aug 1897, estate settled.      Rev Israel Potter was born on 7 January 1790 at Nova Scotia.2,3 He was the son of Rev Israel Potter and Mary Rice. Rev Israel Potter was baptized on 6 March 1791 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.4 He married Catherine Ditmars, daughter of John Ditmars and Magdalen VanDerBilt, in June 1813 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.5 Rev Israel Potter died on 26 June 1860.6 He was buried at Clementsvale Baptist Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.7
     He was ordained on 6 September 1837 to the Baptist ministry and acted first as his father's assistant and later succeeded his as pastor.6 He left a will on 11 April 1850 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS, which was recorded 25 Jul 1860: LWT of Israel Potter of Township of Clements dated 11 Apr 1850. Children: John D., Dowe D., David H., Jeremiah, Joseph, Rebecca Sanford, Catherine, Abigail, Joshua C. and Zenas Potter.8

     Rev Israel Potter was born on 28 November 1763 at Worcester, MA, (July at Sudbury per Walker.)2,3 He married Mary Rice, daughter of John Rice and Sarah Smith, on 7 January 1786.4,1 Rev Israel Potter died on 17 August 1847 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.5 He was buried at Goat Island Meetinghouse Cemetery, Upper Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.6
     He was in the military in 1780 in a company of "six month men" with the 2nd Massachusetts Regiment, Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War.3 He and Mary Rice resided between 1794 and 1838 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS. Israel was listed in the 1794 Poll Tax for Clements for one shilling. In the 1827 census he was listed with three boys and four girls, as a farmer, and a Baptist. In the 1838 census just Israel and his wife Mary were at home.3 Rev Israel Potter left a will on 21 July 1843, which was recorded 03 Sep 1847: LWT of Israel Potter of Clements, yeoman, dated 21 Jul 1843. Wife: Mary.      Israel Leslie Potter was born on 6 September 1850 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.3,4 He was the son of David Henry Potter and Mary Elizabeth Bacon.2 Israel Leslie Potter married Augusta Jane Weilandt, daughter of John Weiland and Eliza Dukeshire, on 14 July 1878 at Hillsburgh, Digby Co, NS; Dukeshire has married at Clementsvale which seems unlikely as Walker cites a Digby County marriage bond.5 Israel Leslie Potter died on 12 April 1925 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.6,3 He was buried at Clementsvale Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.7
     He and Augusta Jane Weilandt appeared on the census of 1881 at Hessian Line District, Annapolis Co, NS; Israel L Potter, male, married, age 30, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer & Mill Man; Agusta J Potter, female, married, age 27, born Nova Scotia; Evaline A Potter, female, age 2, born Nova Scotia.8 Israel Leslie Potter was a farmer between 1881 and 1901.9,10,4 He and Augusta Jane Weilandt resided between 1891 and 1901 at Clementsvale District, Annapolis Co, NS.11,4 Israel Leslie Potter left a will on 25 July 1921 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS, which was recorded 22 Apr 1925: LWT of Israel L. James Delsey Potter1

     James Delsey Potter was born on 16 February 1826 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.2 He was the son of John Potter and Mary Balcom. James Delsey Potter was born on 18 February 1826 at Nova Scotia.3 He married Elizabeth Ann Potter, daughter of Jacob Potter and Catherine Warne, on 1 January 1861; Walker lists a daughter Emly A, born c 1858, but with a strong caveat that her maiden name was Patten. Walker also describes the 1861 census where James D Potter is enumerated as a married male, age 30 to 40, with a wife, age 20 to 30, and no children enumerated. Only daughter Eva is enumerated in the 1871 census.4 James Delsey Potter died on 24 December 1910 at Clementsport, Annapolis Co, NS.5 The estate was probated on 21 November 1911 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; with a letter of administration for the estate of James D. Potter of Clementsport, farmer, granted to Eva Essensa of Somerville, Mass, daughter and only child, wife of Arthur Essensa. Widow: Elizabeth Potter of Clementsport.5
     He and Elizabeth Ann Potter appeared on the census of 1881 at Clementsport District, Annapolis Co, NS; Jas D Potter, male, married, age 55, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farm & Fish; Elizabeth A Potter, female, married, age 48, born Nova Scotia; Eva L Potter, female, age 4, born Nova Scotia.6 James Delsey Potter and Elizabeth Ann Potter resided on 13 April 1891 at Clements District, Annapolis Co, NS.7 James Delsey Potter was a farmer in April 1901.3 He and Elizabeth Ann Potter resided in April 1901 at Clementsport District, Annapolis Co, NS.8

     James Edward Potter was born on 10 September 1810 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.1 He was the son of Aaron Potter and Susannah B. Purdy. James Edward Potter married 1st Mary M Ditmars, daughter of Isaac Ditmars and Levinia (?), before 1837.1 James Edward Potter married 2nd Naomi Chute, daughter of Able Chute and Susan Chute, on 22 December 1864 at Annapolis County, NS; Baptist Church, he declared age 55 and she declared age 36.2,3 James Edward Potter died on 1 August 1890.2
     He and Mary M Ditmars resided between 1838 and 1861 at Clementsport, Annapolis Co, NS, In the 1838 census, James E Potter was listed as having one boy under six years.
In the 1861 census, James E Potter was listed as a married male, aged 50 to 60 and his wife aged 40 to 50. they had eight children enumerated: two males and one female aged 20 to 30, one female aged 15 to 20, one male and one female aged 10 to 15, one female aged 4 to 5 and one male aged 5 to 10.4 James Edward Potter and Naomi Chute appeared on the census of 1881 at Clementsport District, Annapolis Co, NS; Jas Edd Potter, male, married, age 70, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Naomi Potter, female, married, age 53, born Nova Scotia; Caroline E Potter, female, age 24, born Nova Scotia; George F Potter, male, age 15, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmers Son.5

     Jennie Florence Potter was born on 29 July 1866 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.3,4 She was the daughter of Joshua Cogswell Potter and Clarissa Chute.2 Jennie Florence Potter married Frederick Millett, son of Alexis Millett and Melissa (?), on 27 December 1893 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.5,6 Jennie Florence Potter died on 1 November 1956.5
     Her married name was Millett.1 She was a dressmaker on 15 April 1891.7 She resided with her parents. on 15 April 1891 at Clementsvale District, Annapolis Co, NS.7 She resided in April 1901 at Clementsvale District, Annapolis Co, NS, with her father.8 She and Frederick Millett resided in 1915 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.1

     Jeremiah Vanderbilt Potter was born on 12 February 1821 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.1,2 He was the son of Rev Israel Potter and Catherine Ditmars. Jeremiah Vanderbilt Potter married Sophia Chute, daughter of Abraham Chute and Susan Chute, on 10 February 1848.3
     Jeremiah Vanderbilt Potter and Sophia Chute appeared on the census of 1881 at Hessian Line District, Annapolis Co, NS; Jeremiah Potter, male, married, age 60, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Sophiah Potter, female, married, age 55, born Nova Scotia; Ethel N Potter, female, age 32, born Nova Scotia; Henrey Potter, male, age 28, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Edward W Potter, male, age 26, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Susan B Potter, female, age 24, born Nova Scotia; Charles H Potter, male, age 20, born Nova Scotia; Idilia B Potter, female, age 14, born Nova Scotia.4 In the 1891 census, Jeremiah V Potter was enumerated with three grandchildren in his household: Frank M Potter, age 3, born in Nova Scotia; Ethel B, age 2, born in the USA; and Alice M, female, age 5 months, born in the USA. No parents were listed. The death of Frank Potter, son of E W Potter in 1892 at the home of his grandparents was reported in the Christian Messenger. It is very likely that these three children are of Edward and Alice Potter.5 Jeremiah Vanderbilt Potter was a farmer on 14 April 1891.6 He and Sophia Chute resided on 14 April 1891 at Clementsvale District, Annapolis Co, NS.6

     John Potter was born on 17 January 1792 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.1,2 He was the son of Rev Israel Potter and Mary Rice. John Potter married Mary Balcom, daughter of John Balcom and Ellen Gilmore, in 1814 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.1 John Potter married Maria Marshall, daughter of Isaac Marshall and Rachel Goudey, on 18 January 1854.2,1 John Potter died on 15 March 1878 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.3 The estate was probated on 11 May 1878 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; with a letter of administration for the estate of John Potter of Clements granted to son Samuel Potter. Widow: Maria Potter. Division of land in 1879 to: John H., James D., Samuel, Robert, Mary A. Gilliatt, Helen Carty and William Potter. In 1913 a grandson Levereatt Potter of Clementsport applied for LA to finalize the estate as "all sons and daughters are dead."3

John Henry Potter married 1st Maria Gates, daughter of Oldham Gates Jr and Eleanor Slocomb, on 24 February 1842.5 John Henry Potter married 2nd Letetia Spurr, daughter of Josiah Morse Spurr and Sarah Potter, on 21 February 1877 at Lower Clarence, Annapolis Co, NS.6 John Henry Potter was buried at Clementsport United Cemetery, Clementsport, Annapolis Co, NS.7 He died on 21 December 1909 at Upper Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.7

     Joseph Potter was born on 24 February 1824 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.2,3 He was the son of Rev Israel Potter and Catherine Ditmars. Joseph Potter married Sarah D. Rice, daughter of James Rice and Ann Evans, on 22 November 1848 at Annapolis, NS; the Christian Messenger, 15 Dec 1848, reports the date of their marriage as 6 Nov 1848.4,5 Joseph Potter died on 1 September 1904.6 He was buried at Clementsvale Baptist Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.7
     He and Sarah D. Rice appeared on the census of 1861 at Clementsport, Annapolis Co, NS; Joseph Potter was listed as a married male age 30 to 40 and his wife was age 20 to 30. They had four children: one male age 10 to 15 years; one male and one female age 5 to 10 years; and one male age 4 to 5 years.8 Joseph Potter appeared on the census of 1881 at Hessian Line District, Annapolis Co, NS; Joseph Potter, male, married, age 57, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Sarah D Potter, female, married, age 57, born Nova Scotia; Laura M Potter, female, age 27, born Nova Scotia; Anna C Potter, female, age 25, born Nova Scotia, Occ: School Teacher; Arthur C Potter, male, age 22, born Nova Scotia, Occ: School Teacher.9 He and Sarah D. Rice resided between 1891 and 1901 at Clementsvale District, Annapolis Co, NS.10,11 Joseph Potter was a farmer on 6 April 1891.10

     Joshua Cogswell Potter was born on 7 June 1833 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS, age 63 in the 1901 census.2,3 He was the son of Rev Israel Potter and Catherine Ditmars. Joshua Cogswell Potter married Clarissa Chute, daughter of Benjamin Chute and Mary Elizabeth Rogers, on 25 October 1860 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.4 Joshua Cogswell Potter died on 18 April 1913.5 He was buried at Clementsvale Baptist Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.5 The estate was probated on 9 January 1915 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; with a letter of administration for the estate of Joshua C. Potter of Clementsvale, farmer, granted 9 Jan 1915 to his daughter Jennie Florence Millett of Clementsvale, married women (possibly wife of Fred W. Millett). Other children: Minnie G. Potter, Rose B.      Julia Augusta Potter was born on 11 March 1843 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS, she declared age 28 at her marriage in 1872.1,3 She was the daughter of Anthony Potter and Elizabeth Evans Jefferson.1 Julia Augusta Potter married William Henry Rice, son of James Franklin Rice and Eliza Hardy, on 6 October 1872 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.2,3 Julia Augusta Potter died in 1904.4 She was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River, Annapolis Co, NS.4

     Leander Burton Potter was born on 23 September 1882 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.3 He was the son of Beniah Potter and Phoebe Ruggles.2 Leander Burton Potter married 1st Ida May Walker, daughter of Stephen Walker and Eunice (?), on 10 October 1906 at Tupperville, Annapolis Co, NS.3 Leander Burton Potter married 2nd Modina Esther Dakin, daughter of Holland Dakin and Caroline T. Potter, after 1924.2 Leander Burton Potter died on 18 October 1966.4 He was buried at Round Hill Cemetery, Round Hill, Annapolis Co, NS.5
     He resided in April 1901 at Clementsvale District, Annapolis Co, NS, with his parents.6
