From the will it appears that Burpee may have been first married to a Parker and that Melbourne and Edith may have been offspring of that marriage. It would further appear that the other Balcom children are the offspring of Mary E Miller. Direct descendants should consult the 1881 Canada census for Paradise, Annapolis County.5 Her married name was Rice.
