MacKinnon and Margaret (?), on 5 November 1913 at Louisbourg, NS.3,2 Clyde Leroy Martel died on 13 July 1968 at Burnaby, BC; (Witham has died 14 August 1968 at Vancouver, BC.)1,2

     Anthony Martell was born on 29 August 1853 at Round Island, NS.1 He was the son of Thomas Martell and Mehitable Susan Martell.1 Anthony Martell married Clara Amelia Davis on 2 February 1879 at Murphys, CA.2,1 Anthony Martell died on 21 July 1919 at Murphys, Calaveras Co, CA.3,1 He was buried at Buena Vista Cemetery, Murphys, CA.1
     There is as yet no conclusive evidence that the Anthony Martell of Calaveras County, California is in fact the son of Thomas and Mehitable. The birth records for the children do state that Anthony is from 'Cape Briton, Nova Scotia'. His tombstone gives his date of birth as 1854.1 He appeared on the census of 1871 at Cow Bay, NS; living with his parents.4,1 He and Clara Amelia Davis appeared on the census of 1880 at Township 7, Calaveras Co, CA;
