Hicks married Andrew Coggins Jr, son of Deacon Andrew Coggins and Elizabeth Rice, on 26 December 1852 at Westport, Digby Co, NS; by Rev P F Murray.1,4 Sarah L. Hicks died on 11 July 1912 at Westport, Digby Co, NS; (10th per gravestone) aged 87y, her obituary said, in part: ..."Mrs Sarah Coggins widow of Andrew Coggins passed away July 11 at the advanced age of 87 years. She had been a consistent member of the Baptist Church for a number of years .Funeral was held on Saturday attended by D.M. MacKenzie. She leaves to mourn their loss one daughter, Mrs Rupert Peters with whom she resided and nine grandchildren ..."1,5 She was buried at Hilltop Cemetery, Westport, Digby Co, NS.1
