     Mary M. Bent appeared on the census of 1881 at Nictaux District, Annapolis Co, NS; with her brother James.1 She resided circa 1900 at Marblehead, MA, according to The Bent Family in America. Your authors consider this an unlikely identification. There is indeed a Mary Bent, born Canada, emigrated in 1875. in Marblehead in the 1900 US census. However, when comparing Mary's record in the 1881 Canada census, there is no record of a sister Jessie in the 1881 census and Mary was enumerated in Nova Scotia in 1881.2

May Victoria Bent married Harold Gregson, son of James Ronald Gregson and Edith Finch, on 21 July 1944 at Victoria, BC; married at Victoria West United Church, Captain F Pierce married them. Myrtle Bent played the organ. Harold was from the Nanaimo Corps.4 May Victoria Bent died on 14 October 2001.2 She was buried at Royal Oak Cemetery, Victoria, BC.5

     Stephen Edward Bent was born on 18 February 1832 at Nova Scotia.1,2,3 He was the son of James Sprague Bent and Lucinda Morse. Stephen Edward Bent married Sarah Campbell, daughter of Douglas Campbell and Mary (?), in 1858 at Lynnfield, MA; aged 26y (he) and 19y (she) both of Lynnfield.4,3,2 Stephen Edward Bent died on 19 September 1915 at Lynnfield, MA; aged 83y 7m 1d, from pneumonia.1 He was buried on 22 September 1915 at South Lynnfield Cemetery, Lynnfield, MA.1
